It has been almost a year since Katmandu’s passing. I still cry. I will never stop feeling the emptiness.

I am a great cat mama though and my friends, Chris and Jodine asked me to cat sit for their 3 kittens. Pumpkin, the mama cat, was found outside their kitchen window last summer. She had 4 kittens. Pumpkin’s family was not found so C & J fed, housed and got medical attention for all the kittens and mama. They were all fixed, when old enough and two were given away to very good parents.

C & J kept 3: Mama, named Pumpkin and 2 girls, naming them Minnie and MoJo. I spent 3 -1/2 days with them and won them over with playtime and yarn chasing.  It was a healing experience. Why? I had broken my foot in December and it was on the mend. Walking still hurt quite a bit and it did my first day of visiting. Then for some reason by about day 2 I noticed I wasn’t limping. Day 3 I went from about 40% better to now about 90% better…no limp and I could put on a normal shoe.  My only thought is that I was laughing so much, walking around and around their home so much with yarn behind me and kittens in tow chasing…that it was like physical therapy! I have heard cats can help heal, now I know it is true.  Also, I was thinking of their good, not my foot.

I am posting a few photos below, of my cat “nieces.” Aren’t they adorable! I miss them now, so need to visit them from time to time!
